We create generational change through access to education and economic development.

  • Schools

Through the Japhet Family Foundation we aim to ensure all children in the region not only have access to, but thrive through education. Our first project focused on the Ambassador Kiti Memorial Secondary (AKMS) School which serves the rural settlement community of Vitengeni Kenya. The school provides educational services to students who range in age from 14-18 years. Recent efforts have allowed the AKMS School to secure enough funding to complete a five classroom building, moving the students out of the original school house which had fallen into massive disrepair.

This is a start, but many in this part of Kenya still face nearly insurmountable barriers to teaching and learning, including inadequate sanitation facilities, lack of running water, health and safety challenges, poor nutrition, and limited access to educational books and supplies. Through our investments, we can support more students across the regio

  • Community

Today our work is focused on communities in Kilifi County Kenya. A mostly rural area that includes the Arabuko Sokoke Forest Reserve. Thanks to fertile soils and a good weather pattern, the region can usually rely on crop farming; however, poverty and a lack of financial investments in the region have severely limited opportunity for the local community to prosper from the fruitful land. The Japhet Family Foundation has a long-term goal of securing investments to support community managed agricultural projects designed to create sustainable jobs that benefit the community.

  • Connection

The Japhet Family Foundation was established in honor of the late Ambassador Japhet Kiti who throughout his life, served both the Country of Kenya and his local community. It was his deep belief that you must give back to the people and the community from which you came. It is in honor of his legacy that we continue his work of giving.

We believe generational change happens when you invest in communities and provide children with unencumbered access to eduction.
