Revitalizing Education at Ambassador Kiti Memorial Secondary (AKMS) School

The Ambassador Kiti Memorial Secondary School (AKMS), founded in 2006 to serve students aged 14 to 18 in the rural coastal area of Vitengeni, Kenya. In a region where 84% of students live in poverty, AKMS had struggled for years due to limited government funding, falling into significant disrepair.

Through recent efforts, we’ve successfully secured community development funding to complete a new five-classroom building, added a science facility, improved sanitation, and provided much-needed resources like computers, lab equipment, and books. While this progress is encouraging, the work is far from finished. Ongoing needs include fencing, bookshelves, and food programs to support students and ensure their success.

For many children in rural Kenya, finishing secondary school is a life-changing opportunity, yet many are unable to do so without support. Our goal is to provide every child in the region with unencumbered access to education, giving them the tools to transform their futures.
